Geator's
Rock n Roll Rhythm and Blues

Take a
one hour ride into the musical enclycopedic mind of
legendary disc jockey, and Philadelphia icon Jerry
Blavat. The Geator plays the roots of rock and roll and
R&B with a local slant that has made Philly one of the
great music cities of the world but also the music that
inspired generations. Jerry Blavat, known to millions as
"The Geator with the Heator" and "The Boss with the Hot
Sauce," is the man many credit with having invented the
oldies craze. A broadcasting pioneer, Blavat was the
first disc jockey in the early '60s to play music from
the '50s. He took risks, introducing audiences to songs
no one else played, which became local and national hits
all over again.

Saturday Morning 70's
Larry Connors

Host/Producer
"Saturday Morning 70's"
is a new weekly 2-hour radio program that celebrates the
music and memories from the decade that gave us Archie
Bunker, Watergate and The Pet Rock. More than just
nostalgia,
"Saturday
Morning 70's"
gives a fresh perspective on radio hits that other
"retro shows"
available just can't offer.
"Saturday
Morning 70's"
style is reminiscent of the original
"American
Top 40 with Casey Kasem,"
through it's fun and informative look at all of the
genres of music that were being played simultaneously on
Top 40 radio stations all across the country. Songs that
may currently play on your station and some others that
your listeners may not have heard for a while, providing
a wide spectrum of sounds that truly was the 70's!
Each week,
we shine our
"70's
Artist Spotlight"
on the biggest hits from the biggest hitmakers of the
decade like the Bee Gees, Elton John, Chicago and Donna
Summer, just to name a few! We get the stories behind
the hits...directly from the Artists' themselves (where
possible)!
We solicit
audience interaction with fun
"70's
Trivia"
and
"The 70's High School Class Reunion"
in addition to weekly features like the
"70's
One-Hit Wonder"
and
"70's
Flashback 4-Play."
We also do great
"theme"
shows, like
"70's
Movie Hits",
"70's Remakes"
and more! The show's imaging will delight listeners with
audio clips from popular 70's Television Shows and
Movies.
The show
is hosted by veteran Disc-Jockey
Larry
Connors,
who remembers an era (long before audience segmentation
became the norm), when it wasn't uncommon to hear the
latest hits from such diverse artists as Rod Stewart,
ABBA, James Taylor, Barry White, Cat Stevens, The
Rolling Stones and Olivia Newton-John being played
together on the same radio station!

The
Saturday Night Party Zone
Remember those halcyon days of the "Super clubs" from
the 80's and the 90s?
Remember the music that was played at those clubs?
Remember the classic "Disco" and "Eurobeat" songs
that you always heard but never knew the names of?
Remember those tracks that ultimately ended up on
Aerobics tapes from the same era?
Well we do! and that's the basis of the Saturday
night party zone!
We've dug up (Sometimes quite literally) those old
records and on rare occasions found CDs with those old
songs on them, lovingly restored them, mixed them
together and made a show to kick off your Saturday
nights.
The Saturday night party zone is as much a trip back
through time as it is a party inside your radio!
Our mix meisters take all those old songs from the
80s through the mid 90's, put them into a blender and
produce a Saturday evening that will have you yelling
"Oh my gosh - THAT old song!" - guaranteed!
The show itself is a 4 hour duration, divided into 4
distinctly different parts:
- Hour 1 - The Disco hour celebrates
all that is Italo Disco and similar songs
(Think Ken Laszlo, Patrick Hernandez
etc)
- Hour 2 - The "Instant party"
focuses on party songs principally from the 80s
(Think Grease, Wham!, Spandau
Ballet etc)
- Hour 3 - The 90s @ nite celebrates
the dance and house tunes from the 1990s
(Think Sub Sub, Felix, Paul Van Dyk and
more)
- Hour 4 - The SNPZ Mix hour is just
that - a non-stop mix of all dance eras - play it
loud! (Just like being at a
retro-focussed nightclub)
Airs
weekly as a Four hour radio program.
